He’s healthy and happy. Seven pounds, twelve ounces. Born at 4:05 am on August 8, 2007.

Michele is doing very well (now that it’s over!) after a very long two days.

We’ll be posting tons of photos, of course. For now, only one. I’m beat.

Off to the hospital to see my baby and my son.

She’s at New York Presbyterian Hospital (under Michele Boudreaux) if anyone cares to send a card or anything. She will be there until Friday morning (standard protocol). Alternately, you can make a donation in Emory’s name to BARC – our local animal shelter.

Tuesdays with Murray will be retroactively published when she gets home :)

    I am so very happy for you both. He is beautiful, perfect, wonderful! Can’t wait to hear Michele’s story of the delivery.

    On the name: Emory is derived from Emmerich, which is an old Germanic name meaning something along the lines of “home strength” and is also the root of America. Francis is a secular nod to St. Francis of Asisi, Patron Saint of Murrays (er, ANIMALS) and the Environment.

    Boudreaux is a word meaning, roughly “raised in a trailor” and is a staple in many prisons and mental institutions in the southern United States.
