Michael Krasny conducted an absolutely wonderful (audio) interview on KQED with Dan Gilbert, author of Stumbling on Happiness.

Stumbling on Happiness is a book about a very simple but powerful idea. What distinguishes us as human beings from other animals is our ability to predict the future – or rather, our interest in predicting the future. We spend a great deal of our waking life imagining what it would be like to be this way or that way, or to do this or that, or taste or buy or experience some state or feeling or thing. We do that for good reasons: it is what allows us to shape our life. And it is by trying to exert some control over our futures that we attempt to be happy. But by any objective measure, we are really bad at that predictive function. We’re terrible at knowing how we will feel a day or a month or year from now, and even worse at knowing what will and will not bring us that cherished happiness. Gilbert sets out to figure what that’s so: why we are so terrible at something that would seem to be so extraordinarily important?
I highly recommend giving it a listen if you are able. It’s free and only an hour long. You can find the file here. I listened to it last week while at work after a coworker (and friend) told me about it. I listened to it again on Sunday while running. There were times while I was listening where the actual broadcast and some of Mr. Gilbert’s answers actually made me happy. I plan on picking up his book today.

I’m viewing your blog at work and it seems the font has changed since last time I visited your site (last Friday). I use Internet Explorer 7. It looks kinda like a typewriter-ish font and there are no links on any of your entries. Just wanted to let you know.
Hmmmm weird. Explorer 7? I will check the PC and see if something is weird.

Look at your code from the previous entry. The same thing happened to me on my blog once and I found it was from me copying and pasting a word from the internet. It took that font and made the rest of my page the same. It also took away my links, etc.

Now that I think about it. I wasn’t at work since last Friday. So it could be any entry from over the weekend (not necessarily the last one). Just clarifying because I’m neurotic like that.

I think it has something to do with a previous post that I did not make live. I was going to post a bunch of insane Tobyjoe code. I put it into the message field and then everything went batshit crazy. I have since deleted the actual content, but can’t figure out how (or if) I can delete the entire entry.
That might be it. I hope it is. Otherwise, I have no clue. Ah well.
Did I fix the font issue? Also, did the links ever work on a PC? I just checked again and it seems they aren’t working whereas the font has been fixed. It’s no wonder no one clicks on my links. They may not work! I suck.
Sometimes, I feel like just throwing in the towel. hahahha

looks fixed to me…………the only new issue it seems to have brought up now is ……… certain names of people who haven’t entered the name of a blog (me, though i’ve just changed it to purple.com), such as sarah on this thread, are now underlined and your software default brings this up….
The domain “null” is invalid……when clicked. i don’t see this as a problem but just thought i might mention it.
