Esso CEO Muy Rico.

Exxon Mobil disclosed the pay of its chief executive officer yesterday. His name is Lee Raymond.

He made 69.7 Million dollars last year.

If Lee worked every single day last year, 24 hours a day, that means he earned $191,000.00 a day.

He made $15,900 an hour.

He made $265.25 a minute.

He made $4.40 a second.

Let’s think about that for a (five dollar) second. He could pay for a gallon and a half of YOUR gas in less than one minute on the job. How does that make you feel, America?

(First heard on Rachel Maddow’s radio show.)

  3. I’m not a teacher. I work at a cancer hospital in research operations. Don’t get me started on pharmaceutical companies.

  4. Oh, I could totally join you in that debate. I work in a similar field, or, at the very least, with similar monsters.

But that’s all I’ll say about that here.

you’d think that eventually something would actually be done about all this. i mean, its apparently not a matter of people not noticing the oil co’s hands in everyones pockets. But I fear that its the situation we find our government in with big business money. Its across the board. FDA, FTC, they’re just big gov’t slush funds…

And the price of gas has increased by over $0.70 since the winter here. and that’s AFTER Exxon’s record 4Q profits from 2005. I can’t even imagine what you are paying in NY.

  7. Totally. What’s the deal with that pouch he has dangling below his chin? Is that where he keeps the money? Like a stork? THOU SHALL DELIVER ME MONEY ALMIGHTY GAS MAN!

  8. Well, This is by far one of the most disturbing posters yet. And by far one of the worst to date. I think I’m losing my ability. Plus, what is that baby doing to his back? I don’t know. I don’t know.

Also, I want a freaking cyber smooch for coming up with the title of this post. (Yes, it changed since this AM.)

  9. i seem to recall that when micheal jordan was on the basketball court (actually working), he was being paid over a 1,000 dollars per minute! not bad money when you consider he was throwing a rubber ball into a hoop ten feet off the ground.

  10. True. Let’s further the comparison. Michael Jordan is also the CEO of air. And each time a kid needs to fill up his or her basketball at home, each pump costs them 3 dollars.

    Awesome.

  11. yuck. there is so much money moving around and being dumped into people’s bank accounts.
I’m starting teacher’s college in June and I am so tired of people saying that teacher’s don’t make enough. Of course they don’t! I don’t know if i should be paid more than the CEO of a huge company – but if you count up all of the people that a teacher “manages” by educating, in their career, it’s a big number.
