Oh dear, the pro-life/pro-family groups are going to freak out over this one. They can’t very well boycott Walmart, can they? Where on Earth will the get their ammunition to gun down the abortion doctors and homosexuals?
Excellent news. I was worried that this would lead to pharmacies in some places not carrying HAART and other HIV-related meds, herpes and other STD meds, birth control pills, etc.
picking on poor old wal-mart again are we? hehehehe….but really, they’d be stupid not to sell there, look at their clientel…young, low-income, hardworking people(some not-so-hard)who may not be able to afford the goods at a highend retail shop and people who have sex on a regular basis to augment their boring useless lives. good marketing though since i didn’t even know you could get that there….now another reason to go to wal-mart! : )
I will probably forever pick on WalMart. I’ll ease up on your president, but WalMart has reserved a front row seat in hell as far as I’m concerned. Oh, if there were actually a hell…

they are questionable, i just missed the whole argument….”walmart kills local businesses.” the only thing that walwart killed was Aimes department store when it came to my town and aimes killed k-mart……but kmart had previously gotten rid of hills department store. prior to that i wasn’t born. but the department store “has” killed the local business, but long time ago! ya know why? parking. my town didn’t have enough parking and the new sub-urban mega stores had unlimited parking and it was free, one stop shop. pure genius when you think about it in an economic sense. hence our dependence on oil….the department store and since walmart’s the latest evil bad guy(target sells the same crap), we can tack that onto hating them and their expanses of global warming asphalt. but, if there was no department store, americans would have to drive to this shop and then drive to that shop and circle around burning fuel for that parking spot so they can be close to the store and not have to walk their fat asses more than they have to. : )

I once wrote a speech (and gave it) about why WalMart sucks. I could go on and on about it and I do a lot of the time. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll write about the evils of WalMart.
I’ll start with what they do to the economy. Have you noticed they are usually just on the outskirts of town center? That way, the skirt the city taxes and pay as little as possible in local taxes. They pull money away from the downtown area and ship it directly back to corporate in Arkansas.
Although, they are changing a bit. Now, they will offer Health Insurance to their part-time employees after they’ve been there for a bit. They used to only offer it to their fulltimers and even then they had to be there for quite a bit longer than usual.
This is off the top of my head. I have to brush up on my IHateWalMart information. :]

The strange thing about WalMart is it’s designed to be affordable for those who aren’t super well-off. Don’t you think they should pay their not well-off employees better, too? Also, shouldn’t they offer them excellent benefits?
How many upper-middle class people do you see working for WalMart?
I’ve been to dozens of towns in the southwest where the entire business districts closed and there was a brand new super wal mart nearby.
WalMart, in theory, is good for the economy. it should drive prices lower and create competition. unfortunately, walmart dominates the market and is known to take losses to force competition out. they’re also known for dictating delivery costs to their suppliers, often making them take a minimal profit (read: layoff their workers) or lose the contract and have it go to a competitor (read: force them out of business)
walmart is bad all around, except for people who own it. if you think otherwise, you’ve drunk too much kool aid and far beyond any chance for potential reasoning.
yes, i know you were teasing…i’m not a fan of walmart because they don’t sell what i want(except fishing licenses,staples, sharpies,9 dollar DVDs, dickies, and duct tape). but i must admit that people on a limited budget find all the injection-molded pieces of poo that they could ever want. walmart is some sort of devilish pleasure to many people. they hate it(my girlfriend) but still sneak in there and buy something once in a while. we’re getting a target across the street from walmart and my girlfriend is soooo happy. i asked why and said it basically the same garbage(she slapped me). so should we hate target too i wonder? kaufmans? macies? i think we should….they all support the buck-twofitty an hour labor force in indochina or wherever those people are from who still know how to sow.

Yes, they claimed that it no longer made sense to be the only large pharmacy to not carry them.
