4-Year Anniversary

Toby Joe and I met four years ago today. I just got a HUGE bouquet of roses delivered to me at work. Most of the women here are shocked.

Wait, a man sent you flowers on the anniversary of the day you met? How on earth does a man remember that?

I’d like to think he remembers the day we met because I’m the best thing that ever happened to him. But I know I have that in reverse. You see, I am really, really hard to deal with. I am even harder to live with. And for the life of me, I can’t seem to change that. It’s in the genes of all Wojick women. We drive our men just crazy enough to not remember to leave.

I know there are times I take The Beaner for granted, but the truth is, I can’t imagine my life without him. And I do hope that he outlives me, because the day I stop waking up with his legs strewn all over my body because he’s part spider is a day that terrifies me.

(I love you, Beaner. I really, really do.)

  4. Everyone keeps telling me once you’re married you’re supposed to give up the day you met anniversary. Funny, don’t you think? It is quite nice. I mean, this way, I get more presents.

  5. Everyone tells you that, because they’ve been trying to forget the day they met their spouse and wish it all away.

You should tell them they’re idiots and celebrate with Toby. You’ve both got a lot to be happy about.

  7. Congrats Michele & Toby! That’s fantastic that you remember the date and can celebrate it! Mike and I can’t celebrate the day we met because after he introduced himself, I didn’t talk to him again for 3 months.

  9. Kerry was totally hammered the day I met her and doesn’t recall meeting me; I can’t recall the date. I don’t remember any other milestone dates in our relationship except the effective date of our first lease that we signed (July 15, 1990) and our wedding anniversary (July 2, 1994).

  11. Dee, hilarious. I can’t wait to hear why you didn’t speak to him for three months. November, right? You’re coming here then?
Charlie, we were hammered, too. To be honest, had it not been a month to the day of the Very Bad Worst Day, I may not have remembered as easily.
