What do you say GW Bush opens up that 600 Acres of land he has in Crawford, Texas to house some refuges?

  2. Texas is housing over 200,000 evacuees. Sure, they’re not on Bush’s ranch, but they are in Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and even Lubbock. Texas is certainly doing its part.

  3. I know, Camille. It was an (albeit) bad joke. I am not dissin’ on Texas. I am, however, dissin’ Bush.

We didn’t elect Texas. Let’s see Bush do HIS part.

  5. I get that you were dissing Bush. I just had to say something. Sorry. It probably won’t happen again.

  6. I only wrote back so you might know I am not a raging asshole and didn’t realize that Texas was doing quite a wonderful thing. :] You can say whatever you want on here, I assure you. In fact, I am happy you DID write that as sometimes one can lose sight of how things might seem to others. I never like to offend. At least not intentionally. Promise. :]

“What I’m hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overhwlemed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle)—this is working very well for them.”

  8. dear sweet mihow,
i am doing OK and am back in town and we will talk soon (tonight?). in the mean time do you and your loyal readers know about the organization Architecture for Humanity ? (they are a dot org)(it involves designers, too, not just architects) They do great work and are looking at long-range planning and reconstruction.

  9. And in response to Jonathan’s Barbara Bush entry, “And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle)—this is working very well for them,” I have 2 words: COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVE
(oh yeah, there’s a big ol’ texas-sized question mark following those 2 words)
