Grand Theft Auto: Sex Andreas Edition

How much do I want to get a hold of the previous version now? Someone should buy it for me. (More here.)

What’s the big deal? It’s just two clothed people having sex. The company who makes the game was forced to reevaluate projected sales after WalMart and Target announced they would discontinue selling the game. And I felt badly for them; how prudish can we be? After talking to Toby Joe, who suggested that the makers KNEW better when dealing with the American public, I guess I stopped feeling as bad for them. If I were a parent, I’d be much, much more worked up over the gruesome violence seen in that game. Sex is natural, beating up a hooker or running over a pedestrian with a car is not.

But I still want the tainted game.

Could anything have been better for sales than this kind of publicity? I want the game now, and I’d never have wanted it without the hype.

I wanted the game before, and I want it now. Cartoon sex didn’t change a thing. LOL.

Publicity is right, Metro. It is ALL about that here.

And yes, as a parent, the violent slaughter of a hooker is much more of a concern to me than cartoon sex. Though I’m not much of a censeror—more of a ‘watch it with you and explain it’ kind of parent. I’m going to hell, though, so that’s ok.
I wanna kill me some cartoon people.

every time my honey-man sees something about GTA, he waxes poetic, as if he’s imagining some ultra humanitarian gift for us all, and then, almost as quickly as he’s begun, he turns nasty and digusted and tells me alll over again, as if for the first time, what exactly GTA is. I’ve never seen it and I’m not big on vid games, but I understand clearly that he thinks its sick. I got it babe!

The whole issue of what is OK to show and what is not seems so subjective and arbitrary to me. Have you seen some of the gorey details of the human flesh they’ll show on TV (i’m thinking of any of the “Law & Order” or “CSI” shows with extreme close-ups of blood, guts and innards). They are willing to show a person get shot in the head and brains explode all over on primetime TV, but nipples are out of the question. What’s so bad about nipples anyway?!

yeah, the nipple thing freaks me out. if you watch those make-over shows, they’ll show the entire boob but blur the nipple. The one thing that we ALL have and they blur it. I don’t get us. We’re such a weird species.

One of my “most commented” posts was one where I mentioned that I cropped photo to hide my nipples. Maybe I would have got more hits if I had reversed the crop and just posted the nipples.
