Valerie Plame

I think it’s time for Cooper to step up and name his source(s) already. A law was broken the moment Valerie’s identity was leaked. Speak up, already.

And why isn’t Novak being held accountable as well? Or is he? What’s up with all the weird secrecy? What are we waiting for? Who is/was it? Why? What’s going on? This story seems entirely fishy to me.

  1. No one knows for sure what Novak revealed to prosecutors.

  3. But wouldn’t you think that if Cooper faces jail time as does Miller, Novak should, too?

  4. Cooper and Miller being sued are mindless from a case standpoint—it will accomplish nothing as the Government already knows who the leak is, and has subpoened enough info from the papers to put together the whole story. The Gov’t is just trying to set a precedent so they can go after people in the future.

Correct me if I’m wrong – isn’t Novak a piece of shit – the one who started it all by publishing the name of a CIA agent, and Miller and Cooper just wrote about what Novak was doing?

  5. It is my understanding that Miller didn’t do anything beyond gather information. Cooper did release an article but only after Novak. But I could easily be wrong.

  6. So you think it is OK for all newspaper journalists to have to give up their sources for their articles?

  7. BTW, Valerie graduated from Penn State in ‘84 I think.

  8. scbob, no. I don’t think it’s OK for all journalists to give up their sources for other articles. However, with releasing the name of Valerie, they broke the law. Period. Therefore, in this case, yes. I think they should speak up. Let’s start with Novak.
