Nikon D200

Today, I purchased the Nikon D200. It’s freaking amazing. I have been using a Pentax K1000 for about 17 years. I used a digital Elph for about three and then took a baby step and purchased the Canon Pro1. Finally, I own a real camera. I’m really happy but I’m having a little bit of buyer’s remorse. 1. Not being a graphic artist, I have no idea how much stock online photography costs (or if there’s even a market for it), but I bet your guru hubby could whip up a “cityscapes” photo library that you could sell a ton of pics from. Perhaps have others post pics, too. Create a cheap stock photo co-op on top of PayPal (for collecting payments and paying micro-royalties). I think I smell a rails app.

  4. Well, we can’t go out for dinner or drinks for at least a month. And that means i have to pack my lunch as well. Plus, I can’t buy coffee from Starbucks anymore; that’s too pricey. Also, breakfast has to be eaten from home or not at all.

That’s the only way I can justify having spent this much money.

But, I have to say, I have used the same computer for 7 years and I haven’t ever splurged on a camera before. Listen to me make excuses for myself. Ugh. I hate spending money. i hate it.

  17. Ah, so that’s what you were doing today instead of calling us for brunch! LOL.
Only teasing…there is no way any of us were going to leave the house in that rain today (we all slept badly too). I didn’t get your messages until this morning…no worries, you didn’t sound that drunk! ;-)
Great to see you again. Hope you had fun.

  18. Oh sarah, you don’t get text messages do you? :] I wrote you first thing in the morning to apologize for my very silly message from Saturday night. I felt a little goofy after that.

We had a great time. Except that my arm actually hurts from losing at darts. heh.

i’m in most excellent physical shape, apparently.

  20. If you haven’t solved the problem of your nose bumping the focus selector…. see page 53 of the D200 manual… you can lock the focus selector to prevent accidental change.

So, it’s a problem others have had I hope? :]

  23. Yeah, I’ve heard of a few others having the same problem with bumping the focus selector with their nose… mostly left-eyed folks.
