These fellas moved in next door to us. But I don’t think they’re staying.
We made vegan (meatless) lasagna on Thursday night. While it might not look pretty, this was some of the best lasagna I have ever had. We simply devoured it. I wish I could marry it and make out with it in between bites. Holy crap, yummy.
Mama B’s on Graham avenue. We stopped here before our shopping adventure on Christmas Eve and had some coffee.
And Toby took a shot of the celery.
Here we are on Christmas day at Rock Center Cafe. We had a late lunch/early dinner with the family and then continued on to see the tree and make an attempt at seeing a movie. Everything but Blade was sold out.
Here is the ice skating rink at Rockafeller Center. We did not skate. The line was about 3 miles long. Or maybe that was just the folks lining up for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Bash.

And here are some NY style soft pretzels. Yum. Pretzels. (When I lived in DC, I used to eat this everyday for lunch. Healthy.)

This was a gift I received from an online person. It was really quite thoughtful. You can’t really see these to read them because I really don’t have any idea how to use my camera (yet), but you’ll get the general idea.

Overall, we had a great holiday. I ate too many cookies. (Which I have been trying to avoid.) We spent too much money. (But it was worth it in the end.) Toby got me a kick ass new color printer and some soap. My folks got me some soap as well. I have soap which should last me for two years or more. I got a wonderful new sweater and some socks and a hat. Toby got me a most amazing flour sifter and a new old-fashioned popcorn maker. I love the holidays. Now, it’s time to get depressed and look towards months worth of cold weather without all the blinky lights and candle-lit windows.
It isn’t a color printer it’s a photo printer. The Epson R800. I think I need to get you something more exciting as a supplement, though.
You’re being silly. Seriously. Let’s save our money and fly to vegas for our one year anniversary. It’s Paper, right? So let’s gamble! WOO! GAMBLE!!!

Good to see the cats again… wait.. last time I checked.. were’t there 3?
One, will be joining us at a later date. She is living it up with my brother, ryan a few blocks away. Until we get settled and the landlord completes all of his tasks and we don’t get busted for having three cats.

Gorgeous pictures, I miss New York everytime I leave it.
I’m going to NYC for the last weekend in January. Are there any different stores and/or restaurants that you can recommend in either the Upper West Side or Lower Manhattan/Chelsea/Village area?? We try to stay away from the touristy (except for where our hotel is) so I was looking for unique places to go. If you could help, I would appreciate it!
Yeah, Maddie. Let me put a list together. There are several restaurants I like to recommend. Do you have a certain craving (usually) regarding food? Are you into experiences? Will there be kids? Is it just you and a friend/husband? Let me know. Hopefully, I can help ya out.

I love good italian food, and I like american, chinese, japanese…anything except indian. My friend that I’m going with, he is kind of picky when it comes to food, nothing too strange. (opposite of me, I’ll try anything) I would like some place unique though. No kids, just us two. Also if there are any places or shops that you can think of too, that would be cool. (I hate to bother you with this) – we are going to see Rent on Friday night, and then have 2 full days to do whatever. Thank you thank you in advance for your help!
No bother at all! We really liked HanGawi. But it’s an experience. You have to take your shoes off and the food is all vegetarian. (But that’s not why we went, it really is a nice experience. So don’t let the veggie thing scare ya. :] We didn’t actually know it was vegetarian until we were there.) If you’re going to a show, it’s right up around there. We ate there before seeing Proof several years ago. It was a perfect night.
I am going to chat with my friend, Gerry when he gets back from Florida today. He has all the names. I tend to forget stuff like that. There is an incredible italian place I love but I am not sure of its name. Gerry will know. Let me ask TJ as well. There are so many options! Hold tight and I’ll post a list for you tomorrow or the the next day as soon as I have more to offer. Promise.

I went to this little place with my dad on 46th?? or 45th…called Puleo’s. Best italian food. That’s where I think we are going Saturday. So, yes, I live for italian food.
That vegetarian place sounds good ~ might be a little much for my friend, but I’ll ask anyway. :)
Also, those are some mighty big cats you have there. So cute though.
