Who's Hot For Teacher?

Tomorrow I have a meeting with the San Francisco State University about a Graphic Design Instructor gig. Someone just sent me the proposed syllabus. That’s a good sign, right? I am so totally pleased by this. Drinks tomorrow night will surely be on me.

  1. I would like to think that at the very least my husband would have said “I’M HOT FOR TEACHER.” TobyJoe, if you’re reading this, you’re like so dead.

  2. I was hot for meeting, then hot for sandwich, then hot for panicked crazy stressful meeting. Now I’m hot for teacher, a glass of iced tea, and an afternoon playing one-pocket.

  4. 1. If (when) you get the teaching gig, can you take all the classes you want?
    2. Don’t ever wear synthetic blends to your glassblowing class. Note: polyester + fire = melting shirt sleeves
    3. Best glassblowing terminology ever: glory hole

No, i never took glass blowing. My friend and former roommate, Jen, was a glass major in college. She was so good that i never dared.
if you teach me everything you know, i’ll teach you everything i know and then we can take over the world. Deal? Ready… GO!

  7. A deal it is! If I get the damn class. This woman ain’t calling me back. But say I do get this teaching gig, and I DO get a discount, I am so going to take like everything. It’s like being given a shopping spree. I can think of nothing more exciting than being a full-time student for the rest of my life. :]

btw – when i was in san francisco all by myself in ‘98, i stayed at the coolest youth hostel ever in height ashbury (?) owned by a german (which i didn’t know when i called all the hostels from the list i got at the airport and this was the only one with a bed for me..) who used to go to the same bar we always went to in out teens. every room looked like a living room and i got drunk every night with swedish, english, australian and not to forget the irish people. they worked for an irish moving company that summer and got payed with beer-boxes! JAY to the best week ever!!

  9. Wow, I’m not sure where that is. I’ll have to ask around. The Haight is an interesting place, that’s for damn sure. I’m really keen on Cole Valley which is right next to the Haight. Not sure if you wandered around there at all. Then again, that was quite a long time ago it may have changed since them. Hell, I’m only still barely learning my around San Francisco. Take today for example, I have to head up to SFSU and I have no real idea on how to get there or where it is for that matter. Should be an interesting day to say the least.

  14. I have had my haircut once since moving here and it was at oxenrose. :] Some guy cut it for me. He was straight and made fun of Baby Valley (aka Noe Valley). Nice place! Who do you go to? I’ll check them out next time if you have a favorite.

  16. Thank you! I was really impressed with the place but not too keen with the dude who did my hair. He was nice and all, but I think he wanted to give me a hipster hair cut and when I wasn’t interested he sort of lost all interest in me. So thanks. I’ll go to Hector next time. (I just randomly took whoever was open the last time. Probably not the best idea).
