This weekend Toby and I watched The Dream Catcher (not to be confused with that horrible Steven King flick about stuttering aliens dressed like humans). The movie we watched was wonderful. Plus, the younger boy in the movie, is how I imagine our son (if Toby and I should have a son) would look. Freaky.
Movie synchronicity? No, have not seen ‘The Dream Catcher’ yet, but in the past month I’ve watched both ‘Capturing the Friedmans’ and ‘In America’, have ‘Irreversible’ sitting by the TV, and ‘The Station Agent’ is next in my Netflix queue. Just coincidence? I think not.
I’ll let you know whether or not I ever get up the nerve to watch ‘Irreversible.’
For real, I hid in the bathroom through that one scene. Toby had to keep saying “NO! Wait, don’t come out yet.”
Not pleasant. The good thing is, you can mute it too, as it’s in French, so the person with you won’t miss anything. That move, my goodness. How funny, my dear, that we have been watching nearly the exact same movies. Great minds….
Not only was that scene insufferable but I thought Irreversible was disgusting for its portrayal of gays. I try to stay off of my homo high horse but I think the filmmaker ought to be forced to spend a summer waiting tables at the Fire Island Ihop for that load crap.
OK, I’m getting down now.
Donnie, I absolutely agree with you. 100%.
