Class part 2

Thanks for all your comments/help yesterday about Director and such. I look forward to bombarding Codable.com with Lingo questions in the next few months as I’m sort of inspired all over again. :] I know it ain’t no Flash and I know Flash ain’t no Director, but it’s nice knowing new things.
Toby and I met at the mall last night and while standing in line for one of his presents, I met the most hideous woman. I had a few minutes before he met me in Best Buy and I spent most of those minutes fretting over whether or not he was going to catch me in the act, ruining my surprise. What to do? So I very nicely ask the woman ahead of me,

Hi. I have a strange request, I am in line buying a birthday gift for a friend and he’s about to walk in and I want to make sure I have this in a bag before he does so as he has no idea I’m buying this. Do you think I can jump ahead of you? It won’t take me long, I have an ATM card I’ll pay with…

She cut me off, her pinched up face and snotty little rat-nose pointing at me,

Absolutely not. I have two hungry kids at home and I have to go. I am sorry, but you’ll just have to hide if he walks in.

I was shocked. She kept talking at me. I ignored her, shocked. Toby walked in. I directed him elsewhere, while this woman watched and turned her nose up at me. I wanted to punch her. I wanted to run her stupid panty-hose. I wanted to pull her hair and spit on her stupid, expensive shoes. Bitch. Toby amused himself while I waited. She nearly ruined my night.
Class starting, back in a few. Today: LINGO! woohoooo!!!

  2. lingo is a silly word-gam-quiz-thing in holland, I know it aint macromedia’s fault, but that prevents me from taking directore seriously. can’t they rename it? lol.

  3. Apparenlty, the dude who wrote Lingo later sued Microsoft for stealing the language and writing Visual Basic with it. He won and now he’s on some island fishing and hanging out with monkeys and hoochie mamas.

Silly Microsoft. I worked at a place that used Visual Basic to write their software, buggy crap. Total crap. And they charged tens of thousands of dollars for it.

I have no idea where this post is going and it just barely relates to anything you just said, arjen. hehe

  13. The woman from last night, as she stood there (in such a hurry) the very slow check out guy asked everyone in line “Do you all have credit? I can’t take cash. It must be credit” Everyone nodded. Credit it was. So this woman pulls out 80 dollars after he tells her the total. He looks at her and says “Credit only… I Just said that” She’s all huffy with him, starts to bitch and moan as if HE is wrong. But all of US got it right. I wanted, hoped, pleaded with someone, anyone in my head that she was told she’d have to go to another line in order to pay with cash, but (the rich, tight-faced bitch that she was) pulled out her gold card and swiped it through the machine. I thought all sorts of hateful things.

It would have been beautiful if she had to stand in line again. I would have cried.

    Anyway, enough about that. :]

  15. You should have told her that if she spent less money on expensive shoes and more money on food, her kids wouldn’t be so damn hungry. Also, my favorite line is from Beetlejuice: “Someone is upset because a house fell on her sister.” That rocks.

  20. HAHA I knew mike would read that and say something about it! so funny. actually what I meant by sort f is that I always thought of the block as a graphic design company, not a “Webdesign” company. even thought that was all we did. theres something that makes odd sense about

    toby<>ninja costume

    I don’t get it
