Thaiphoon

I have a new favorite restaurant. It’s called Thaiphoon. It’s so damn good. When I was in highschool, I worked at a place for a while called The Lemon Grass Room. The food was amazing. It seems, that since eating there, I haven’t experienced Thai food quite like that. Well Thaiphoon is as good. I met Toby there last night. We went once before and were ignored at the table, so we left. This time, however, everything worked out well. Toby was amazed and quite pleased by the size of the hot peppers they put in his meal. I ordered a green curry dish with tofu. So good. Makes me wonder why anyone would want to eat meat. :] Anway…
Yesterday I ordered two tickets through work to see SUPERDOGS! in January. SUPERDOGS! is a show about super dogs. I guess they do tricks and run around, they dress up and dance and sing. Maybe they fly through flaming hoops, who knows. I can’t hardly wait.
I also picked up this book from Olsons. It’s back to non-fiction as I don’t think anything can top Middlesex right now. I’ll ease my way back to fiction soon enough. :]
More in a few. I need some tea.

  1. After reading that book, maybe you’ll understand why I hate the UN so much and why we shouldn’t look to them to ever solve anything.

As for Thaiphoon, we always go to the one in Pentagon Row. In fact, a group of us went there Friday night and had a great time. Plus, in the courtyard of the Pentagon Row one there is a small ice skating rink.

  2. We’ve been to that one. Aside from the HORRIBLE decor, the place is quite lovely. :] The decor at the one in Dupont is quite nice. I guess they cater to the gay men and decide to Jersey it up for the suburban folks.

  3. I want to see Superdogs! Did you see their website superdogs.com? They are the Ice Capades of the canine world! There is a pug that walks on his front legs.

That reminds my of my trip to the Land of Little Horses in Gettysburg, PA. Along with numerous mini-horses, they have piglet races and a mini-horse circus, which is really just parading the horses around in costumes like a clown, a unicorn and a princess. And a few very low hurdle jumps. It was a five year ol girl’s dream. I was about 25. It was super.

  5. Nico, I saw the land of the little horses when I was around 7. Holy cow that was a great day. I even rode one (as I was much smaller than). At least I think I rode one. hmmmmm now I’m not so sure. Maybe I made that part up during the recording of that memory.

Dogs on ice? Holy cow. I’m so excited.

I rode a small horse! I rode a small horse! You didn’t ride a small horse! But I did! And it was probably thinking, “Get the hell of me, you
    , little, frizzy headed kid.”

  9. Nice, tobyjoe. I expect that from a kind of behavior from nasty older brother, but not the love of her life.

Speaking of tails, how is Shitty? OK?

  10. Ohmygod, I inadvertently typed Shitty. I must have some repressed anger happening here. Probably work related. Sorry, kitten. Shmitty that is.

Schmitty is acting MUCH better. He has a vet appt on Saturday at 11:30. He’ll hate me, but I want him ok. :]

  13. What is going on with me I’m having somesort of typing meltdown! Why did I send those blank messages? I don’t know!!

Anyway, I’m sure Shmitty will be fine. He’ll get over the vet trauma.

A present for me!? Hooray! Cat related? The kitties would like yarmulkes and tuna flavored gelt for Chanukah.

  14. I didn’t know your cats are jewish. Schmitty is Jewish. Perhaps he’ll share some of the treats he gets.

  15. Yes, Oscar and Herman are. Herman and Shmitty share the similar ethnic features, don’t you think? But Herman is strictly a secular Jew. Although Oscar has reaffirmed his faith after his near-death experience. Martha, of course, is a WASP, but she likes to join in on the holiday events because they make her feel like a well-rounded individual.

  19. Hey, Mihow, I’m home in WI visiting the parentals fo Phanksgivin’. They have funny accents here.

I SAW Superdogs in Toronto!! It was awesome! At the end of it, you can get “pawtographs” from all the stars of the show! I still have mine. It’s funny, they turn down all the lights and pump out dance music while the dogs do their thing. Rawk.

  20. Mihow going to the dogs! Kinda like me going to a rap concert.

  21. Please stop with all the SUPERDOGS! talk. My wife is already bugging me about getting tickets.

  22. Rob, would you like to come along? I am sure I can get two more. Just let me know soon so I can place the order. They do cost money, but I’m sure it’s worth it. :]

  23. You may have missed the point of my post:

I DON’T WANT TO GO TO THE SUPERDOGS!! SHOW!

It scares me, and God forbid if one of the dogs is dressed as a clown I may be forced to jump into the ring and kill it.

  25. You don’t understand, Melissa still laughs to the point of crying over the clip in “SnowDogs” where the dogs are wearing sunglasses and shorts.

The horror I would have to go through after she saw a bunch of dogs dressed up and doing tricks is just to much to bear.

But I do hate clowns. They are evil evil things who hunt down children. Does ANYBODY remember John Wayne Gacey? ANYONE?! Didn’t anyone read Stephen Kings “IT”?

As Bart Simpson said “Can’t sleep or the clowns will eat me. Can’t sleep or the clowns will eat me.”
