Quark

I swear to friggin GOD, Quark knows when you have made many, many edits and haven’t saved for a while. It knows and then decides to spit some humpin error message like:

QUARK HAS UNEXPECTEDLY QUIT. YOU SHOULD HAVE SAVED YOUR WORK. RESTART NOW LOSER.

Bastard!!! I actually liked where it was going too. DAMN! Do they write that into the software? AURGH!!! (as my professor used to say,

It’s not a problem, it’s an opportunity”).

  1. actually, there could be a relationship there…

if there is a big ol memory buffer Q uses to store program info in RAM, and you don’t save (which might clear that info or shuttle it to the hard disk), it could overflow, which would lead to that…

    this is just speculation, though.

i’ve never coded Carbon apps or anything, so I dunno, but it seems possible.

    cmd+s, baby.

  3. I hate the “unexpected quit” message. I think Macs have some sort of Carbon Value Judgment software in them… “Oh I don’t think the website you are viewing is of mac caliber… ” pooof quits! “Oh what is this you are working on in Word? An expense table? Boring!” poooof quits. or “So, you are doing a new layout in photoshop hmmm.. I see you are not using Apple Garamond anywhere. Feel the wrath heather.” pooof quits.
