I knew you would get a kitty.

Congrats on the latest family member.

    Any Names?

    Meg

    His name is Murray.

Tobyjoe looked at him and said, “Let’s call him Bill because he’s striped, you know, after Bill Murray. He has sad eyes, too. No, his name is Murray.” (When it comes to fuzzy animals, this is how Tobyjoe thinks. It’s quite adorable. I can’t wait until he’s a proper father.)

So, his name is Murray, named (loosely) after Bill Murray. And you wanna hear something weird? He freaking comes to his name already. That, too, is Tobyjoe’s doing. Toby has him on a strict lesson plan to learn how to accept/ask for/take rides.

I wrote a little bit about how they were getting along on Sick Pet Support. (Trying to keep my animal posts to a minimum on mihow.com. yeah, right. He’s too cute.)

Ha!! Murray is adorable and sweet looking, and so is Tobyjoe by the way. ;-)
    I can’t believe you got a kitten.
    You are too cute.

You guys are awesome, and so is the newest addition to your family. :D

He’s getting us prepared for mother/fatherhood. Last night we were up about a dozen times tending to his every need. Granted, I know this ain’t nothin’ compared to what a baby’s demand will be, but it’s a stepping stone! :]

Yeah! Congratulations on the growing family. He is adorable. Hope he takes after his namesake.

Phew! I was afraid he was named after THIS Murray!

He does a have a nice “m” on his head. Legend has it that Mohammed (cat lover) touched the forehead of his favorite cat leaving his mark, or Mary did the same to thank the cats that kept the baby Jesus warm… pick your favorite legend, or not!

You know, you just reminded me of something. I read the most horrible thing lately regarding the religions and cats. They were talking about which religions were pro cat and which were not. And when they got to the bit about the Bible the stories were horrible, truly horrible. Apparently cats aren’t well liked in Christianity? They went as far as to burn people who fed a cat? What’s up with that? Is this true? I haven’t looked any further to be honest with you because I am afraid of wast I might find.

Murray is beautiful! I hope he is helping your heart!

  14. tobyjoe said at 12:26 pm on May 7th, 2007:

The Bill Murray reference is from his hit (on Comedy Central reruns) film, Stripes.

  15. nico said at 12:26 pm on May 7th, 2007:

Stripes was a real hit in the theaters, Junior! shaking cane at you

The wee one totally looks like Bill Murray. a perfect name.

  16. melhow said at 12:26 pm on May 7th, 2007:

How adorable! I can see how you couldn’t resist! This is why I stay off the cat aisle at Petsmart:)

You might want to consider one of these for the other new baby: http://www.buybuybaby.com/shopping/prod_detail/main.asp?uid=19C9A52B-D8E8-46A2-BE3C-C5AA19360494-50233723&search=tent&stype=ANY&sl=&modelNumber=undefined&advSearchCat=undefined&brand=undefined&minprice=undefined&maxprice=undefined&productID=113171. We registered for one with Simone and Rob’s coworkers bought it b/c they thought it was hilarious. We ended up returning it when we realized the cats were totally freaked out by her and we wouldn’t have to use it.

  17. mihow said at 12:26 pm on May 7th, 2007:

Mel, you better believe we’ll get one of those. Oh, yes, we will.

When can we come meet Murray!? Adorable. Totally merits a visit to the third floor, I think!

  20. girl27 said at 12:26 pm on May 7th, 2007:

    Aww! What a cutie.

And the cat’s real handsome as well. :) (I love Murray’s expression – as if to say “Momhow – I am innocent in this!”)

  21. raphaelle1 said at 12:26 pm on May 7th, 2007:

Murray is adorable. I am sure if he met up with my lovely Hellen, they would create chaos and tricks together. I’ll send you a pic when I’m home.

Well, that knocks Murray Boudreaux out of the “baby naming contest” [by default]…….or am I just being catty?

Not a big cat owner myself, but I like my frenz “rent-a-cats” when I’m visiting…..
