The 15 Minutes of My Expensive Internet Fame

Well, we have looked at several places. One of them is awesome. We’re waiting to hear back about it. Another, has been offered to us, but we’re holding out.

I’m tired. The streets here are really hilly, windy, and windy, they’re pretty much any adjective ending in “y”. The sun seems to be shining always. The fog drips in like the steam lifting from some Halloween witches cauldron. I am Gretel. He is Hansel.

We’re staying in Chinatown. Our room is small. Windows face other windows, and if you’re able or brave enough to stick your head out you can see that there is sky way up there.

We lost our car once. Thank goodness for hand-held honky things and 15 minutes to find it and get out.

There’s a place called Twin Peaks. I haven’t seen it.

We have met many people from Ohio.

It’s only 9 p.m. and I feel like it’s after midnight. Oh… wait….

  2. Megan, I think things are going well. She loved the apartment and is touring the city and some of its finer restaurants. Dinner last night was on me at Scoma’s in Fisherman’s wharf.

  3. Good to hear you finally made it here…You are lucky you found some places you like…It seemed like it took forever for us to find a place. I hope you get some time just to explore the city though and enjoy the weather…!

  4. Things are fine! Sorry, I was just super tired last night. And dizzy from running around. :]

Cat, I would have loved to have met you! Can we meet once we’re here? Unless, of course, our flight is cancelled due to inclement weather, we’ll be heading out of here shortly. Time flew. Who knew. I’ll be in touch when I get home and near my email addys.

  6. We are not sure yet. I have to fax them my tax stuff from last year. And he has to check our references (current landlord, etc) then we have to send a check sealing the deal. I have my fingers crossed. Seriously. It’s in Noe Valley. Very sunny, two/one bedroom. Will I be near you? We can get coffee and go for afternoon walks. There’s a yoga studio a few blocks away as well. I stopped in, they seem great.

Oooh meeting for coffee….yum. I am there! Just tell me when and where!!! So long as you don’t mind me bringing along the daughter…acutally there is a really neat coffee shop close to a playground we visit often so that should be a good walk.

as for children, after the colicky (spelling is for those who have slept) infant on the RED EYE last night, i have decided that babies are evil.

  9. anyone who brings a baby on a redeye flight withtout drugging it first should be flogged.

remember, babies don’t piss adults off; parents piss people off.

  10. Toby…I had the same feelings in my pre-baby years…views change once you have one. I have been lucky, mine never had colic….

this visit let me know that i definitely NEED to take (and tune for torque) my Vespa. it also introduced the idea of getting a small motorcycle for the city.
