7 Comments »We’re studying eggs this week. It’s been one hell of an eye-opening week to say the least. I’m floored by how much I’ve learned already. And I’m floored by how much I should have known and did not. I’ve been making so many mistakes all these years! Ah well, that’s why I’m in school, right?

4 Comments »Is he a handsome devil or what? This cat brings me so much joy. He’s a happy beast. I wish I could share his snugs with everyone. But Emory might not give him up. Mama definitely won’t.
5 Comments »Sunday is our long day at pastry school. We go from 9 AM until 5 PM but we do get a 20-minute break. Whenever lunch rolls around I pull out my iPhone to check email, Twitter and the like. Well, this Sunday it wasn’t working. The little ATT icon showed up but the 3G icon did not. I figured the entire network was down.
I am constantly learning new things as a mother. For example, last week I learned that getting a 3-year-old to listen to a soccer coach for three hours in 90+ degree heat is impossible. We tried. I had high expectations, but it went just about as smoothly as Mom and Baby Yoga. The good news is we didn’t end each class lying on our sides, breastfeeding our kids. The thought of doing that in direct sunlight in 95 degree heat makes me want to puke.
14 Comments »I am in the middle of a longer post about soccer camp, which we began on Monday, but it’s slow going because I’m slow going (and without any childcare this week). So for now, I’ll leave you with a picture.
3 Comments »Murray loves corn (video). And I know it’s bad for him so we don’t let him have it anymore. But he tries. Oh boy does he ever try. Yesterday we were all sitting around eating some corn on the cob when I was accosted. Can you make out the blurry paw? Yeah, that’s him smacking my corn. Freak.
