Today I ran in the JP Morgan Chase Run as One 4 miler. It was a short one. (I’m starting small this time. Several years ago I signed up for the NYC Marathon and got hurt trying to train. Stupid.) But I have to tell you: I’m pretty proud of myself. It turns out, I’m a bit faster than I thought I was. (Still on the slow side, though. But who cares!)
I’m apparently highly allergic to something in Central Park though; I haven’t stopped sneezing since I finished and my nose is cherry red from all the tissue use. Brutal. How do you allergy sufferers deal with this nonsense?
But: YAY ME!
I’m hooked. I’m going to do the R Baby Mother’s Day Run in May.

I don’t write much about Emory for probably pretty obvious reasons. He’s no longer a baby—he’s not even a toddler anymore—he’s a little boy. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to write about him. Emory and Murray have become even closer, something I didn’t think was possible. Yet. Here we are. I am often too late at filming their interactions because I’m usually too busy enjoying them to run for the camera—I don’t want to miss anything! But I’m trying to have it more handy. We’ll see!

I love chai. My love for chai is actually why I took up candy-making again a while back. I wanted to make a chai lollipop for myself. Unfortunately, I realized right away that I wouldn’t gain instant gratification; I’d have to make an extract first. So, I revisited my homemade whole wheat chai muffin recipe and came up with a water-based extract. While that was doing its thing is when I began to explore other flavors and play with recipes. So, perhaps it’s good that I had to wait this time.

I’m in a coffee shop at the moment. I have roughly 50 minutes before I have to return home to Emory. Anyway, I took a moment to check Facebook and saw that one of my family members posted a picture of my grandma.
