decided to try these this past weekend. made two batches as the first one was a bit moist in the middle. made the second batch with garlic and sesame seeds. they camme out perfectly. very crispy. my folks were in town and they were a big hit with everyone. my two-year-old son jack loved helping with the rolling pin and sprinkling the sesame seeds. so easy. i'm always looking for recipes like this. thanks so much for sharing.

These look perfect for some peanut butter or any spread.

I'm going to pass along this recipe to my sister, the designated baker of the family.

Thanks!

Yum! I love making crackers. In case you want to try other variations, this one is my favorite:
http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/olive-oil-crackers-recipe.html

And for the GF crowd, it's been adapted as well!:

(Michele, that second link comes complete with cute cat pics!)

Spelt is NOT gluten-free. It has lower levels of gluten, but is not safe for folks on a GF diet. I am constantly getting this confused, mostly because I am dense and our local bakery puts the spelt stuff in with the GF stuff!!!

Unfortunately (for me) spelt isn't gluten free (along with kamut it's a part of the wheat family), but they look great!

These crackers are AWESOME. I started making them about a year ago and I love, love, love them. Of course, I am a bit of a cracker-fiend, so anything to help save money (and help ensure I know exactly what I am eating...) is great.
