I made these cookies for my book club, and they LOVED them! It is a tough crowd too, because most of the members are excellent cooks. I had one suggestion from a member, who said that putting the orange zest (good addition, btw) in the dough would taste better than on top since mine was rather brown by the end. I, too, had to turn the heat up for baking. Thanks again!

they did such a poor job with that, didn't they? We're looking for a piece of marble so I can quit the stupid concrete already. But honestly? If you so much as spit on one of these things they stain. No joke. I am not sure what they were thinking with this one. They'll have to redo it all every time someone moves out? Something.

I no longer trust they know anything about what it is they're doing.

Stupid architects. ;]

Well, perhaps that wasn't the best way to put it. They were like dust? They didn't have as much crunch as I would have liked, not enough snap. Moist is perhaps not the right word. :]

Too moist? TOO MOIST?!?!

Surely you jest.

(Thumbs up on cool marble, BTW. Those with granite countertops can reap the benefits too, so long as they use a portion far from over heat. Works when making pasta and bread doughs as well.)

Loving these mom-it-down recipes.

I recently tried to bake bread with my 5 month old strapped to my back.

Big mistake.
Big.
