Good Things Are Coming Our Way.
posted by mihow on March 19th, 2008
Crazy day.
Between The Mountain Goats show this evening, Emory’s doctor’s appointment, and my mother visiting, I haven’t had a lot of time to write. But I wanted to take a minute to say that today we became homeowners.
The Mountain Goats are going to sound so much more sweet this evening. And my life gets better each and every day.
I think I’m in shock.
Edited to add: I wrote this yesterday flippantly and excitedly, however, we aren’t actually homeowners. Yet. Technically, we’re in attorney review and there’s still a lot to work out before we sign the deal. This could fall through. I feel I need to correct myself. Plus, I hate getting excited about something to only be let down. Assume the worst! ;]

Way to go, guys! Congrats!
(Am very jealous you’re seeing the Mountain Goats. I missed their shows in SF a few weeks ago and spent last night watching their YouTube clips and feeling sorry for myself.)

Congratulations! There is nothing nicer than moving into a completely empty, totally clean house and putting your mark on it. Moving into a “brand new” home and community is a great feeling. Enjoy!!!

congratulations to you, toby, emory, and the fuzzy ones!! and, hope the mountain goats show was a great celebration for you guys. when they played up here, john had multiple instrument malfunctions, but still played a fantastic set – including ‘This Year’ as a last encore :) the rallying chorus in that song always feels applicable in some way or another, but it seems it would have special meaning for you guys.

I know you don’t know me, but….....we purchased our first home 3 months ago. We already have 4, yes 4, kids. We moved from a VERY small place into our new (much larger) house. What I want to tell you is that I know material things are not what truly make us happy, but this house makes me so freakin’ happy! It’s mine and just the knowledge of that makes me smile, even when I’m sleeping. It makes screaming babies, driving back and forth (only to turn around and drive back again),PMS, and picking up the dirty socks and underwear of a VERY capable man feel at least half as annoying. That is a huge accomplishment for a bunch of 2×4s and drywall. I wish you the warm tinglies that I have.
