Fountains of Wayne

There is a new double disc CD out by Fountains of Wayne. It’s a great CD. Really great. There’s even a cover on it that (in my not so humble opinion) is better than its Brittney Spear’s original.
And I was nice enough to give it to the Internets. (3.0 mgs). You’re gonna love it. Come on, now, hit it baby one more time. Do it, kittens. Do it. And then thank me for sharing the love.

Ungrateful bastards. ;] No really, in a similar vein, the new Death Cab is amazing.

I like it anyway. Thanks!

Thank you. I’m not ungrateful. Just slow.
(not hard to be better than Britney. Did you hear Marty do the same song on RockStarINXS last week? He said he was going to take the “candy” out of the song.

I loved Marty’s version much more than Britney’s and Fountain of Wayne.

I heard a great cover of “Oops I did it again” once. When you strip away the pop tart frosting, these are great melodies/songs.

btw, kerry and i are absolutely obsessed with RockStar:INXS. This is the 2nd “reality tv” show we’ve ever watched regularly, and we spend an inordinate amount of time discussing it. I thought Marty did a great job tonight showing that he can cover the INXS catalog and bring a new edge to the band: he reminds Kerry and me of Johnny Rotten, David Bowie, and Scott Weiland all rolled into a (seemingly) nice guy. I also really like Mig a lot, too. I think it’s going to come down to the two of them, but Suzie may be a dark horse.

I haven’t ever seen that show. Now that you’ve admitted to obsessing over it, I sort of wish I had. I only once got into a reality TV show. The first season (or it may have been the second one, I am not sure.) of American Idol had me. I remember TJ and I watching it every time it was on from our loft in Brooklyn. That was three
- almost four -years ago. I used to write about American Idol on here, too.August 25th, 2005 at 11:45 AM
The INXS one, though I think the point is a bit hokey—has really excellent performers. I’ve really enjoyed them all. American Idol is pretty talentless when compared.
