New Launch at SPD and a Self-Portrait.
posted by mihow on March 23rd, 2005
We launched yet another week of SPD. We have one more week of Email sign-ups and then we move entirely over the the automatic submission system Toby Joe so brilliantly wrote. I’m looking forward to that, too. :] Please, go visit them. Click on some of the faces you find interesting and say hello. (I have a few favorites each week but I’ll never tell.)
Last night, I developed a roll of black and white film. It was the first roll I personally developed in about seven years. I had a few frames to do away with before processing, so I thought a nice picture of myself wearing a green face mask might be nice.
It’s a good thing I don’t have this image in color. SK-AIR-EE. Go ahead, click the image above and see just how strange I look without eyebrows. (I’ll put up the rest later.)
I think I might submit this nasty baby to The Mirror Project as well and give Heather a real scare.

I can’t see your picture :(

Hi Michele – am really enjoying your blog, I esp liked the waiting couple… I’m off now to explore the SPD site, what a great idea. Have a good day, hope the sun is shining on you.

What do you mean you can’t see it? Is anyone else having that problem. Please, step forward so I can figure out why. How weird. :[ Thank you, Fiona.

I could see it on my home computer, but not here at work.

Has this happened before? I wonder if TJ turned something off/on. I would guess it’s your firewall(s). I will do some research.

When I right click and select ‘open in a new window’, it appears. Hmmm.

I see the dreaded red x.
March 24th, 2005 at 04:10 AM
No pic, no red X, no spot for a pic. If you hadn’t mentioned clicking it, I would’ve wondered if I was only supposed to go look at it on the Mirror Project. (is it there?)
bummer.
(viewed with Mozilla Firefox, Windows XP)
BTW: I see that SPD is really getting more and more artsy/creative as the weeks go by. Makes me wonder if I’ll be up for the challenge if/when my turn comes up again…

y’all refresh one time for us. maybe clear that cache first. michele seems to have saved the thumb version with a couple of weirdo settings.

scare away, baby. it’s fabulous!
March 24th, 2005 at 06:00 AM
Yes, refresh! This morning I could see the red X but when I clicked it I saw the picture. Right now it’s totally fine. I am just on ol Explorer, at work, with firewalls and shit. ;-)
Congrats on 3 years, girl…I didn’t get a chance to say so yesterday!
The SPD site is rockin…I love checking it out every week.

jeff’s on SPD! that’s one of my favorite pics of him, so glad he (you) shared.
March 24th, 2005 at 07:31 AM
Yeah, Jeff’s picture is super cute. He sent another one and when I saw that one I was thinking, “are you nuts! jumping jeff is a winner!” so I guess he eventually saw the light and changed his mind. heh

yup…I was going to go for a more recent one but, in the end, I decided it had to be the jumping one. glad you like it…

That is very a very cute pic, despite your protestation.
SPD looks great! Rock on sista.

Where did your brows go?
If I lived anywhere near NYC I’d be all over that roller derby event. Damn.

Cool pic—I think it will rock the mirror project—
March 25th, 2005 at 05:46 AM
Not sure about the rockin’ but I submit it nonetheless. :] Scott, just fly here. There are planes for this sort of adventure. You know you want to. It will be the event of the year.
