Guided By One Minute Songs.

Last night, I purchased 25 dollars worth of Guided By Voices cds in search of one song I haven’t heard in about 6 or 7 years. I really want it. I can’t even hum it to the clerk (something done quite frequently to me while working in the music shop back in college) because I don’t even remember the tune. I just remember loving it so. I got Alien Lanes and Mag Earwhig!

Neither, of which, have the song I am looking for.

25 bucks ain’t so bad, really. The thing is, most of their songs as many of you may know are like 30 seconds to a minute long. I should have gotten another cd because the total number of minutes don’t add up to what I would have gotten if I had purchased, say, a Sonic Youth c.d. or a live recording of Phish.

Damn, I want that song.

    It’s VERY VERY melodic and poppy. All I know about it is this, I used to listen to it at Supon Design Group with Michael. That means it was out about 6 years ago. Also, it was on a compilation. That doesn’t mean it’s not on one of their cds as well, as I know it was/is. But I only know that the reason I heard it was Michael had some compilation featuring a number of “hip” bands.

    That’s all I know, not very good, eh? And well, it sounds like them. :] Heh.

    PS Rob, every time I hear them, I think of you. Cool, eh?

    Speaking of music, rob. Did you want some old Greenday? I think I remember you saying as much. I can upload some songs for you… I mean send you the c.d. ;]

    Chele, one other thing. On Thursday I’m going to see Pedro the Lion at Black Cat with Kathy. First time I’ve seen her in three years.

    She’s coming down to see the show and then stay the night. They live in Philly now.
